Icon Green is a significant step forward toward the use of safe and eco-friendly plastic materials. It is made from a special plastic suitable for use in toy manufacture (according to European standard EN71-03 and U.S. FDA regulations), in that it does not contain: dioxin, phthalates, bisphenol A, antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chrome, mercury and lead. Furthermore it is free of polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and deca-BDE, and it conforms to the RoHS and REACH directives. It is rated as non hazardous pursuant to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulation. This is why the plastic from which Icon Green is made would also be suitable to come into contact with food. This plastic is antibacterial, thanks to the use of a special additive that releases silver ions thereby preventing bacteria from colonising the surfaces of the pen that come into contact with people’s hands and often with their mouths. Being free of toxic substances, this plastic material is safer for human use and much less polluting: thanks to its excellent quality, in fact, it lasts longer, thereby enhancing the promotional value of the product and, at the end of the product’s useful life, it greatly reduces the quantity of harmful substances dispersed in the environment. A special colour palette has been created for the Icon Green pen.
